Made With Good Intentions

Sustainability has become a bit of an empty marketing buzzword. We prefer to talk about intelligent and responsible choice of materials and washing techniques.

We produce in Italy using Italian raw materials. From initial concept to final quality inspection, Peppino Peppino product begins and ends in Italy.

We still operate as “mom and pop” business. Through our localized product development and production in Italy, our more responsible wash techniques, the vegan back patches and deadstock materials, our collections are curated with a conscience, fostering longevity and delivering classic, everlasting products that gets better with the everyday use.

Our philosophy is producing “just enough” – we produce small batch with a great attention to details – enough to fulfil the needs of the market and to make our business running.

OUR DENIM FABRICS

Pure Denim, an Italian mill located just west of Milan, is constantly striving to improve upon the process of denim fabric manufacturing to lower the impact on the environment.

This season, Peppino Peppino, has adopted a beautiful deep indigo 11oz denim which is dyed using Pure Denim’s smart liquid indigo technique developed by Sedo Engineering SA.

Indigo is insoluble in water: traditionally used dyes are based on reduction through hydrosulphites, which are often extremely polluting and hazardous to health.

‘Smart Indigo’ uses only indigo pigment, caustic soda, water and electricity: it is an electrochemical process, so it does not use hydrosulphites.

The Smart-Indigo solution is the most responsible and independent way to dye denim.

Candiani’s selvedge fabrics are unique for their combination of history and sustainable innovation. They embody the traditional appearance and character of selvedge fabrics but, thanks to special fibres and yarns, innovative dyeing techniques and patented technologies, they also boast unique benefits in terms of responsability.

Candiani is one of the few Italian mills still producing selvedge denim in Italy using antique looms, resulting in a superior product which is durable and unique.

We have selected the right hand 3×1 indigo selvedge, 13 ½ oz.
Made with organic cotton, this open weave construction lends itself to a beautiful vintage look.
A medium shade tone produced by indigo juice “Easy-Fade” technology which means – once jeans are washed in the laundry – only a small amount of water, chemicals and energy is needed to wash down the indigo achieving great looks with low environmental impact.
