One of the most difficult things in this world saturated with images, products, and information of all kinds is to think ‘outside of the box’ and be – somehow – innovative. This is a challenge that we know very well at PeppinoPeppino.
When we first met Luciano and Piero, owners of Mr.HotDog at Caffè Paszkowski in Florence a few months back our creative senses were tingling.
Piero, who define himself ‘proudly analogic’, presented to us their prints proposal on an old school clip board.
We flipped through the intentionally wrinkled pages, charmed by the thinking behind it, realizing we spoke the same language.
Their proposal was ironic, unconventional and perfectly align with our DNA.
During the first meeting is when we also realized they are the founders of the iconic brand Joe Rivetto, which revolutionized the streetwear world in the early 2000’s.
We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to do this collaboration with them. We are sure that this is the first of many capsules to come. We have found the perfect creative partners who are capable to interpret our philosophy and spirit through images and prints. And their process is truly unique.
Piero and Luciano use American deadstock t-shirts which are hand-treated with natural pigments to give them a used and worn-out look. The prints are made in their laboratory located in Umbria which is a fun and chaotic museum of vintage pieces. So special and different from the soulless mass production.
With them we even went a step further taking advantage of Luciano who is an artist and has personally – one by one – hand drawn both the overalls and the suspenders with denim artworks on two of the t-shirts in our capsule.
As small business owners, we are sometimes too busy to remember to have fun – with Piero and Luciano we are back to that with a lot of laughs!
