The most hipster back pack is…

The 1950’s canvas and leather Swiss Army rucksack is perhaps the most iconic military accessory of all time and certainly the most sought-after. As you know, I love vintage Swiss Army bags. I have already mentioned the Canvas Swiss Medic Bag in one of my previous posts.

From 1940 to 1970, Swiss soldiers packed provisions in these rucksacks, made of heavy, rugged canvas. Thick leather protects the bottom and the adjustable shoulder straps.

This design was later taken and adapted by outdoor companies. Any similar back pack is not, of course, as cool as the original.

I must admit that it is not easy (but possible) to find an original vintage swiss army rucksack in good condition.

Flea market, e-bay or vintage military clothing web sites are a good way to start your search. I found a good one at Etsy. If you are lucky it is still there!

Check out also the link down below, if you need some more advices on the right size to get. Super interesting article!
