A weekend in Berlin: 14 oz. and Hansen

14 oz. is located in the Neue Schönhauser Strasse 13, right in the center of the Berlin Mitte district.

Denim lovers know that this is the place to shop. Founded by Karl-Heinz Müller, creator of Bread and Butter, the store offers an amazing selection of brands, from on-trend streetwear to premium denim brands.

I was in Berlin yesterday and, as denim lover, 14 oz in Mitte was my first stop. The store is awesome and I couldn’t help it to take some pictures (not sure I was allowed to…).

As very often happens when I visit a store, I found the men’s selection more interesting than the women’s.

I fell in love with this Japanese Indigo pair of Hansen men’s trousers.

Hansen garments is a Swedish brand designed by Aase Helena Hansen. The brand is inspired by the working class uniforms and daily clothes from Scandinavia’s past.

“In my work, I am influenced by many genres. I want to bring back the idea of the ‘Sunday Bests’  (ed. dressing up properly on Sundays) and I indeed love traditional work wear. Both elements are represented in our collections, making it possible to wear the garments in many different ways, versatility is key here! When it comes to structure, I use a lot of Japanese fabrics, simply because I find them very close related to the Nordic esthetics” (http://www.thekinsky.com/conversations/norse-craftsmanship-a-stroll-with-hansen-garments/).

Please browse the company web site, because these clothes are really amazing!

If you are in Berlin, 14 oz. is definitely a store to visit. In addition to the one in the Mitte, 14 oz. has another store in the west of Berlin, on Kurfürstendamm 194. I have been told that it is the best one.

It is also possible to shop on line, link down below.
